Albania mourns Bektashi leader

TIRANA, Albania – Albania is observing a day of national mourning Monday (April 4th) to honour the leader of the Bektashi World Centre, Haxhi Ded Reshat Bardhi. The head of the Bektashi order over the past 18 years died on Saturday after a long illness. His funeral will be held Tuesday. The World Centre of Bektashi, which is believed to have around 7 million followers worldwide, was moved from Turkey to Tirana in 1929. (Balkan Web, Shekulli - 04/04/11; Top Channel - 03/04/11)
